NEC to showcase dual-screen LifeTouch Android tablet at CES

NEC are set to unveil their 7” dual-screen tablet at the upcoming CES show in Las Vegas. Apparently the device will be based around the single-screen LifeTouch slate which was revealed in Tokyo last month. What’s interesting about the tablet is the design, with SlashGear’s mock up showcasing its dual-screen in action it looks surprisingly like a Nintendo DSi (but with a bigger screen).

Of course this is just a mock-up, but we should have more details about the device when the company unveils their creation next month. Spec wise the tablet is said to feature the aforementioned 7” dual-screens, along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G connectivity.

Similar to the DSi, the LifeTouch will be able to display different information on each screen simultaneously, but reports did not dig any deeper than that, so there is no news whether the screen technology will be resistive or capacitive. As for the OS, we can only assume it will have Android 2.2, with a fast track to Android 3 (Honeycomb), which is said to be the true tablet OS for the platform.
