Acer has today rolled out in the US and Canada its Windows 7 (Home Premium or Professional) powered Iconia Tab W500 tablet PC. This 0.63" thick device features a 10.1-inch (1280 x 800) LED-backlit touchscreen and is powered by AMD's Brazos platform.
Seen below, the W500 packs a 1.0 GHz C-50 APU (with Radeon HD 6250 graphics), 2GB of RAM, a 32GB solid state drive, an SD card reader, two Crystal Eye 1.3MP webcams (one in front, one at the back), 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth, Dolby audio, a G-sensor, a HDMI output, and a 3260mAh battery enabling up to 4 hours of video playback or six hours of web browsing. The tablet also comes with the clear.fi media sharing system, and Acer's Ring touch-enabled interface.
The Windows 7 Home Premium-loaded Iconia Tab W500 costs $549.99 while the Win7 Pro-boasting model gos for $619.
