The audio gurus at Altec Lansing are now preparing the release of a new 2.1 speaker system, an entry-level model called BXR1321 which is claimed to have an elegant design and is supposed to deliver top-quality sound for PCs, netbooks and portable media players.

Altec's system includes two 2-inch full-range speakers and a 4-inch side firing subwoofer (all are magnetically shielded), and includes both USB and 3.5mm connectivity. The BXR1321 has a recommended price tag of €34.99 (it's found on pre-order as low as €29) and is set for a May release.

On a related note, next month Altec Lansing will also release the BXR1320 2.0 system (same thing as the BXR1321 but lacking the subwoofer) priced at €20.
